Rising Stars of Science: HBT Students Triumph at Science Olympiad Competitions

On March 8th, HBT Science Olympiad students competed in a Regional Competition at Kellenberg Memorial High School. The team placed 6th out of 43 teams, advancing to the New York State Science Olympiad Competition. After just four weeks of refining their study guides, competing against each other, and improving their designs, the team headed to Syracuse for the New York State Science Olympiad competition on April 4th and 5th. Over the course of two days, students participated in 23 events and overall, placed 14th out of the 40 teams at the New York State Competition. The team earned medals in Anatomy and Physiology, Meteorology, Microbe Mission, Optics, and Scrambler. Mr. Holtzman and Ms. Herbold are immensely proud of the dedication these students demonstrated, not only in the last month but throughout the entire 2024-2025 Science Olympiad season.
