The Syosset Central School District was filled with energy and excitement on Tuesday, September 2nd, as students returned for the first day of the 2025–2026 school year. All ten district schools opened their doors to welcome back students, faculty, and staff for what promises to be another successful year of learning and growth.

Students bounded off buses, greeted friends and teachers, and stepped into classrooms ready for new beginnings. 

Over the summer, several capital improvement projects were completed to enhance safety, accessibility, and the overall learning environment. These included:

• Renovations to the Syosset High School testing and media centers

• Repaving of the South Woods Middle School parking lot and sidewalks

• Partial roofing work at South Woods Middle School and Syosset High School

• Creation of a new bus loop at South Grove Elementary School

• Emergency repairs to the electrical feeder system at Walt Whitman Elementary School
