Syosset Senior Vincent Huang Named Regeneron Science Talent Search Finalist

Syosset Central School District is proud to announced that Senior Vincent Huang has been named a 2024 Regeneron Science Talent Search Finalist. The Regeneron STS is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious pre-college science competition.

Vincent was selected from 2,162 U.S. and international high school students who submitted original research in critically important scientific fields of study. He is one of only 40 finalists in the country, and three on Long Island, who will compete in Washington, D.C. this March to win up to a $250,000 scholarship. His project is titled “An Advanced Computer App for Simulating White-beam Diffraction Laue Patterns in Modern X-ray Crystallography.”

Earlier this month, three additional Syosset students were among 300 named Regeneron Science Talent Search Semifinalists: Alex Chen, Griffin Hon, and Aryan Shah. Each received a $2,000 award with an additional $2,000 per scholar going to the high school to support STEM education.
