A Museum Quest That Left Art Students "Impressed"

HBT Art Club visited the Heckscher Museum in Huntington on Thursday, May 30 to see the new exhibition of ‘American Impressionism.’

This outstanding group of artists got to revel in famous works of art painted by American artists. They discussed and interpreted the artists use of color,  brushstroke, and subject matter. At the end of the gallery tour, they were able to create their own piece using oil pastels based on what they learned. Some students even took to ‘plein air’ drawing to understand the idea of Impressionism.
