Ryan Wei Emerges as School Spelling Bee Champion

The HBT School Spelling Bee, consisting of 56 school spelling bee qualifiers, was held on January 15th and 16th.  Almost all students had taken a qualifying test the week prior with only the top 7% of students qualifying for the school spelling bee, so it was truly an elite field of spellers.

After more than a dozen rounds of competition eighth graders Ryan Wei and Jordan Guo emerged for the championship rounds with Ryan Wei eventually earning the HBT School Spelling Bee Championship.   Ryan's winning word was positivity. Next up for Ryan is a qualifying test for the Long Island Region Bee of the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Good luck Ryan!
