7th Grade Students Celebrate their Writing with a Cross-Cutting Lens!

Ms. Allen, Ms. Snyder, and Ms. Nunziato brought their English and Social Studies students together for a Cross-Cutting Writing Celebration commemorating their accomplishments.  Students wrote Realistic Fiction short stories in English class and Native American short stories in Social Studies, moving through all stages of the writing process with impressive dedication and commitment.

Students gathered in the library, enjoyed some refreshments, engaged in a small-group share of story excerpts, participated in reflective circles, and finally chose a few short stories to read independently before signing their peers' "fan pages."  It was an event which highlighted academic accomplishment, the power of cross-cutting, and the strong sense of camaraderie among the students.
