Syosset Named a Best Community for Music Education for the 20th Time!
Syosset Central School District has been honored for the 20th time with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the NAMM Foundation for its outstanding support and commitment to music education.
The Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate exceptional achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. Syosset is one of the 686 districts recognized this year for the efforts made by teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders to make music education part of a well-rounded education.
“This year, the recognition is particularly meaningful,” said Michael Salzman, Syosset’s K-12 Coordinator of Fine and Performing Arts. “It has highlighted how an entire community’s commitment to music education ensured that Syosset would continue to provide its students with the very best music education possible, even during a global pandemic.” He adds that while this is the 20th time Syosset has received this designation, “of them all, this may be the one of which I am the most proud.”
The NAMM Foundation is a nonprofit supported in part by the National Association of Music Merchants and its approximately 10,400 members around the world.
