Schoolwide Enrichment Program Kicks Off Its Twentieth Year

South Grove had its first Brown Bag of the year: “The Majestic Monarch.”  Mrs. Lee, our Chorus Director and one of our General Music Teachers, shared her passion and expertise about these butterflies with third and fourth graders. The nearly 20 students, who elected to participate during their recess, learned so much and had many interesting facts to share as well. Of course, the highlight was when Mrs. Lee unveiled the Monarch caterpillars feeding on milkweed and the chrysalis hanging by one strong, silky thread.

Brown Bags are an exciting part of our schoolwide approach to enrichment. It is an optional recess-time enrichment opportunity for interested students. Different topics are presented and interested students are offered “tickets” on a rotating basis.

We are off to a MAJESTIC start!
