South Woods Seventh Grader Krishiv Shah Invents App, Makes Guest Appearance on Popular Podcast

When seventh grader Krishiv Shah emailed a few teachers to share something he'd been working on, he had no idea it would lead to a social media frenzy and an invitation to guest star in a popular podcast.  But that's exactly what happened last Friday after Krishiv proudly shared his work with several teachers.  His Health teacher, Ms. Scheffer, promised to promote Krishiv's impressive project- a "Social Distancing" app. She tweeted her pride and a link to his video, and things moved quickly after that!
Ms. Scheffer, a devotee of author and educator Brian Aspinall, tagged Mr. Aspinall on Twitter because she knew Krishiv's work fit with his mission of inspiring coding and computational thinking in middle school students.  Moments later, Brian Aspinall direct messaged Ms. Scheffer to compliment Krishiv and ask him to appear on his weekly podcast- airing that very day!
A few phone calls later, principal Michelle Burget "met" Brian Aspinall and connected him with Krishiv's mom.  Krishiv taped the podcast and received accolades from Mr. Aspinall for his ingenuity, particularly in a time of such anxiety.  He encouraged Krishiv to "keep chasing greatness!"
Heres's the video that started it all:
