Parents of resident students of compulsory school attendance age who intend to provide home instruction to their child(ren) need to inform the District of their intention. A letter of intent including the name, age, and current school of attendance for each child is to be forwarded to the Office of Pupil Personnel Services. The parent will receive confirmation of the request and a packet of information/directions on the submission of an Individual Home Instruction Plan (IHIP) for each student. For the reopening of schools for the 2020-21 school year, the District is currently planning for daily in-person teaching and learning in grades K-8, and an alternate-day plan for in-person and virtual learning in grades 9-12. We are aware that some of our students may have medical reasons that require special consideration and that may not allow for in-person teaching and learning during this time. We also understand that, as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, families may wish to opt for an all-virtual learning experience for their child. To accommodate these students, we have made an all-virtual learning experience available.
