Pursuant to Executive Order 202.26, Governor Cuomo has established June 9, 2020 as the revised date for the 2020 annual budget vote and election. Because of the pandemic, the vote will be exclusively by absentee ballot. There will be no voting at the polls. Every qualified voter will be sent an absentee ballot with a postage paid return envelope.
A qualified voter can register with either the local county board of elections or the school district to be eligible to vote. Because of the pandemic and the closure of school, school districts cannot conduct registration of voters at the school building. However, prospective voters can still register to vote with the local county board of elections by completing an online application with the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles at https://dmv.ny.gov/more-info/electronic-voter-registration-application.
