Syosset Arts Why Statement

In the Syosset Schools, we have found that participation in the Arts offers our students an outlet for self-expression that can ignite a lifelong passion for creative endeavors.  Art and music education foster creativity, and help students to develop problem solving and critical thinking skills as well as teach self-discipline and the value of perseverance.  Through the arts, our students develop the 21st Century Skills that will prepare them for success in any career path they choose to follow. Perhaps most important, studying the arts helps students to make connections between themselves, their innermost feelings, and the world around them.
