• Naviance Student Software Information

Naviance Student is a college and career readiness software that allows parents and students to get a head start on higher education planning. The software allows students to research colleges and compare their own grades and test scores to those of other students who have graduated from Syosset High School. This admissions information is helpful for goal setting and application planning. Additionally, Naviance gives access to other college information like cost, student body demographics, extracurricular and athletic programs. Our students are encouraged to use this powerful tool  beginning Freshman year.

This program also offers an in-depth career and personality profiler. Students can participate in small groups with their guidance counselor to complete these assessments to help them decide which high school elective courses may allow them to explore different career paths. These assessments allow students to discover career options and plan their paths based on general areas of interest, education, and training required to achieve individual goals and objectives.

Students and parents have access to a shared account where personal academic information (GPA, SAT scores) may be viewed. With the ability to view the application outcomes (accepted, denied, waitlisted) for recent applications using GPA and SAT scores, students can gauge their chances of acceptance by comparing personal scores with those of successful applicants.
