Emergency Child Care
As we continue to navigate through this crisis, Syosset Central School District, in partnership with SCOPE, is able to offer child care for the children of first responders and health care professionals at no charge as they serve our community. The program is also open to students currently enrolled in the SCOPE Before/After School program on a fee-basis. Although we fully understand and support the need for social distancing, the Governor has ordered these programs so the healthcare system can confront this crisis at full strength.
This program will start Monday, March 23, 2020 and will be housed at Baylis Elementary School, 580 Woodbury Road, Plainview. The hours of operations will be 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flexible schedules will be available.
Registration can be found online at www.scopeonline.us, “Click Here for SCOPE Emergency Child Care.” Children currently registered in the SCOPE Before/After School program must re-register. The program is limited based on capacity and staffing. Students will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis. Preference will be given to children of first responders and health care professionals.
The SCOPE program is staffed with trained, certified, and vetted childcare professionals. Additional precautions will be taken to safeguard the health of the community.
- Prior to entering the school building, all children and staff will be monitored for any signs of fever, cough, or other respiratory illness. Those showing signs of illness will not be permitted to enter the program.
- Staff and children are required to be proactive and utilize frequent and thorough hand washing and other good hygiene practices to prevent spread of illness.
After you have registered online, SCOPE will send a confirmation notice of registration by email. Immediate concerns and assistance can be directed to SCOPE Education Services at (631) 360-0800.
