Syosset Special Education Staff Meets Temple Grandin

Temple Grandin with staff
Director of PPS Mary-Lou Sapienza and several Syosset Special Education staff members recently attended a presentation by Temple Grandin, a professor, inventor, and best-selling author with autism who serves as inspiration and role model to hundreds of thousands of families. In the presentation, she described the challenges she has faced and offered ideas on how others with autism can meet obstacles and improve the quality of their lives. Backed by her personal experience and evidence-based research, Grandin shared her valuable insights on a wide variety of topics including parenting and teaching students with differently-abled brains.
