Syosset CSD 2018-19 Budget Passes

Thank you to all of the residents who participated in the 2018-19 school district budget vote and trustee election. Voters approved the proposed budget, 1,642 to 592. With this support, the District will continue to provide a full academic and co-curricular program and provide programmatic enhancements in the area of technology, while also addressing areas of our school infrastructure and providing further security enhancements.

Additionally, Proposition 2 to create a new Capital Reserve Fund dedicated to facility upgrades that address school building security was also approved, 1,714 to 495. 

In the Board of Education election, six candidates ran for three seats in an at-large election. The following is the final tally (by ballot position): Bill Weiner–845, Andy Feldman–1,164, Wendy Levitt–935, Chris Ulrich–1,036, Dr. Uzma Syed–1,031, and Christopher Di Filippo–1, 042.
