During the week of October 17, 2017, Baylis Elementary students and staff joined together to stomp out bullying. The week began with an assembly in which Principal Lisa Greiner read the book “Stand Up” to all students. This book tells the story of a group of children who form a caring majority to ensure children help and befriend one another. In addition, students and teachers together signed anti-bullying pledges, which are currently displayed in the main lobby along with the Baylis Elementary School Promise. The promise was written last year by a group of Baylis students and speaks of the culture of kindness being nurtured at the school. In accordance with these activities, and in honor of National Unity Day, students and staff donned the color orange as a symbol of the Baylis commitment to “Stomp Out Bullying.”
