Artists Honored as Visionaries Photo
Two of Syosset High School’s finest student artists received Honorable Mention in the LIU Post Art Department’s Advanced Visions 13: High School Artists of Excellence Exhibit. Maxine An was recognized for her dress design titled “A Rose is a Rose is a Rose” while Laurel Birkhahn was noted for her artwork portfolio “Organized Chaos.”

Advanced Visions includes expressive and original works by regional Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and portfolio preparation high school artists who demonstrate creative minds, synthesizing concept, materials, skill and form. Laurel (left) and Maxine are pictured displaying their acclaimed works as they are congratulated by their art teacher Demi Protonentis.
