South Grove’s Geo Bee School Champion

South Grove is proud to announce its 2017 National Geography Bee School Champion: fourth grader Samuel Wang. This is the tenth year that South Grove has participated in the National Geographic Bee, and the school has been buzzing with interest in geography. Students prepared for the Bee during recess, at home and online. The Geo Bee is sponsored by the National Geographic Society for students in the fourth through eighth grades in thousands of schools across the United States and in the five U.S. territories, as well as in Department of Defense Dependents Schools around the world. Samuel advanced through three school rounds to become this year’s champion. He will advance to the next level of competition, a qualifying test to determine state competitors. All school champions are eligible to win the national championship and its first prize, a $50,000 college scholarship, at the national championship May 15-17, 2017 in Washington, D.C. Congratulations also to all the participants and finalists!
