HBT Math Olympiads Take First Place

Congratulations to Harry B. Thompson Middle School’s sixth-grade Math Olympiads who recently competed at the recent Nassau County Mathematics Teachers Association Tournament and came away with multiple awards, including a first-place team award!

HBT’s Team A, comprised of Yihan Ding, Tiffany Gao, Amanda Huang, David Wangand Caroline Zhu won the overall tournament, which consisted of 55 teams from throughout the county who came to SUNY Old Westbury to demonstrate their knowledge of mathematics. Each participating team was asked to answer questions covering different areas of advanced mathematics.

David and Amanda also won second- and won third-place honors, respectively. A second HBT team, comprised of students Michael D'Amato, Lexi Langman, Shreya Motagnahlli, Spencer Rubin and Lauren Steiner also competed.
