Students enrolled in Syosset High School’s Ceramics and Sculpture course and Life Skills program worked with bonsai artist Giacomo Mule on a “Living Sculpture” project.

Art teachers Peter Haughwout and Demi Protonentis and Life Skills teacher Kristin Fuchs helped their students create ceramic vessels prior to Mule’s visit. Ceramics students assisted those in the Life Skills program and taught them how to work with clay. After all of the vessels were fired in the kiln and glazed, Mule met with students to share his expertise on the art of bonsai, helping them to create wonderful sculptures to take home and share with their families.
