Baylis School kindergarteners received a special and memorable visit from firefighter Ken Johnson of the Syosset fire station.  He talked about the many aspects of fire safety, including the importance of “STOP, DROP & ROLL.”  Children watched in awe as Ken dressed from head to toe in his bunker gear then discussed the necessity of firefighter gear for safety. They viewed the equipment both on and off the fire truck including an oxygen mask, a fire extinguisher, different hoses and tools.  Students also learned firsthand about the responsibilities of the firefighter and were very excited to hop onto the shiny red truck, where these brave men and women ride.
