Serving a Winner

Tennis teams at Syosset High School recently hosted the school’s first tennis challenge, an exhibition doubles tournament that paired student-athletes with faculty, staff and administrators. Coordinated by the girls varsity tennis team with support from the boys varsity team, the challenge was designed to allow students and staff to get to know each other outside of the classroom while promoting the game that they love.

“We want to grow interest and participation in tennis while also encouraging students to bond with teachers and really get to know them on a different level,” said girls and boys varsity tennis coach Shai Fisher, who was pleased with the first-year turnout and hopes the event grows in the future.

More than 70 members of the high school community participated in the challenge, including varsity and JV tennis players, tennis enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels, staff and parents.
