South Grove Elementary School celebrated Constitution Day with its sixth annual Preamble Challenge.  Students in grades two through five were offered the voluntary challenge of memorizing and reciting the Preamble to the United States Constitution. The challenge promotes students’ memory and speaking skills and brings focus to this important document.

Second graders also participated in an optional Brown Bag, an optional recess-time enrichment experience. The second graders, who participated in “The Constitution And You” Brown Bag, learned about the United States Constitution with a short multimedia presentation and discussion. After some reflection, students wrote two rules important to them. Students were excited to “age” their documents by rubbing them with wet tea bags. Students enjoyed their lunch with new knowledge, big smiles, and freshly cleaned hands!
